Top Luminar AI editing tools

Here’s the top features of artificial intellingence tools in Luminar AI:

  1. Atmosphere AI
original
after – fog filter

Atmosphere AI adds realistic atmospheric effects to landscape images with 3D depth, such as fog and haze with steam and drizzle on the way.

This would normally require complex Photoshop overlay and blending – the AI identifies the various foreground and background elements, applying the change to each element independently.

2. Body AI

Body AI makes bodies thinner or fatter (removes or adds weight): it’s strangely realistic! I see this is very useful for Instagram influencers or anyone who works with models (proceed carefully!)

The Body AI Thinning feature is particularly useful (when used in conjunction with Face AI) for correcting face / body distortion in portrait images taken with wide angle lenses. It also works for multiple subjects in a group photo.

3.Iris AI

original

Iris AI changes the color, shape, size and visibility of the subject’s iris, even working on multiple people in one shot. In a fun way, you can even apply a cat’s or owl’s eye to the subject, creating a surprisingly realistic “contact lens” look!

Iris AI is great for finishing portraits and adding some pop to dull eyes to help them stand out on social media. It can also be fun to see how you look with a different iris color, all with just one click.

4. Sky AI

Original
after

Another unique feature of Sky AI is that it brings with it the remarkable ability to not only replace the sky in a photograph, but also its reflection.

If your landscape photos include water (or other reflective surfaces), this is an impressive feature – no other software is currently able to reflect changes made to the sky.

The new sky automatically adjusts to the angle and depth of the scene to produce realistic results even in the smallest details.

There is also a handy “Scene Relighting” feature, which helps eliminate strong color casts from the sky on foreground objects, including human subjects.

5.Accent AI

Accent AI adds natural lighting and enhances colors. It’s hard to tell exactly what’s going on with the photo, but in most cases it’s similar to applying an “auto enhance” feature, except that the AI helps identify the subject and background in each photo for treat them differently.

6. Augmented Sky AI

It detects the sky in a photo and adds various graphics like birds, mountains, clouds, rockets and hot air balloons (!?) Augmented Sky is a bit of a clownish in my opinion – I don’t see many people using it (but in my edit as you can see the mountain looks very real).

7. Harmony of colors

Balance saturation and vibrancy to take complete control over color depth.

8. Face AI

It improves the lips, removes dark circles, whitens the teeth, slims the face and lightens it. Again, I can see that this is useful (and compelling) for social media users or selfie enthusiasts!

The Face Light feature is especially useful for portraits and also works on all subjects in group photos – this is great for wedding photographers who need to add brightness to every member of a family photo – normally this would require a delicate ‘burn’ work with a Brush Tool.

9. Golden Hour

Illuminates the subject and the scene to reflect a photo taken during the short period before sunset – the Golden Hour.

10. Mood

Alter the mood of an image by experimenting with color palettes and lookup tables (LUTs).

AI of the skin – Body AI

Removes stains while preserving pores, texture and hair. Automatically detects and removes shine from the skin.

In practice, this works most of the time, but the AI obviously struggles to identify the difference between a mole and acne. In this case, only a “real person” can decide what to remove with the change and what to keep!

Sky Enhancer AI

Adjust the skies seamlessly to make them stand out without looking unnatural. It saves a lot of time as there is no need to mask anything.

Structure AI

The artificial intelligence of the structure brings out the details while adding depth and clarity. Artificial intelligence recognizes people, water, skies and objects, customizing the change based on the contents of the photo. Especially useful for architecture, urban landscape and urban photos, as it helps refine textures and enhance details.

The rays of the sun

Adds a new sun to rekindle a scene, controlling its position, heat and brightness. This was my favorite Luminar 4 feature, so it’s good to see it still works so well in AI.

Super contrast

It adds contrast to highlights, midtones and shadows individually, especially useful for landscape images when you haven’t used an ND filter to selectively control exposure.

Texture overlays

This tool offers advanced tools for transforming textures and overlays of PNG images, allowing you to add special effects to photos, including watermarks, text, emoticons, and other decorations. Once saved in a template, you can sync them across multiple images.
